Pause for a Puppy

Pardon our paltry production of content. Our hands are full with this precious pup. Meet Irvine’s newest resident, Cleo.

While we care for Cleo’s many needs, here is a run down of Irvine’s rules for dog owners.

  • Dogs must be licensed by the city by four months of age (cat licenses are optional).

  • The Irvine Animal Care Center has resources for dog owners (as well as owners of cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, and rats). The resources for dogs include advice for owners on barking, escaping, crate training, house training, leash training, chewing, and separation anxiety.

  • Excessive barking at any time of day or night is not permitted in Irvine. The city defines excessive barking as incessant barking for more than 30 minutes or intermittent barking for more than 60 minutes over a 24 hour period.

  • While the county requires dogs stay on-leash at all times, they can romp through the three-acre Central Bark dog park for some off-leash fun
