The list of COVID-19 deaths in Irvine is currently twenty. The number of those affected by these tragic losses, in Irvine and elsewhere, is far higher.

In an effort to commemorate the lives lost due to the pandemic, the city of Irvine is taking action in the form of an online memorial.

Irvinites can fill out a survey to provide details of their loved ones who perished due to COVID-19. The life commemorated can be one of the twenty lost from Irvine or any COVID-19 victim who is mourned by someone here in Irvine. Friends, family members, and anyone who grieves a life lost to the coronavirus are welcome to participate.

The remembrance project provides an opportunity for residents to share favorite memories of their loved one. Up to three photos of the person being memorialized can be uploaded to the site.

Consider participating in this unique project. While we hope to never relive these painful days, this remembrance project will help those in the future to understand our pandemic. Through this moving tribute, we can create a legacy.

To participate in the COVID-19 Remembrance Project, fill out the city’s online survey.
